Aussie and Japanese

We’the Jijis & Mamas members” have been leaning English from Aussies for 3 years.
We could meet with 4th teacher in this week. He came to Japan following his wife’ a school ALT for English in Himeji city’.
Though he is still a vice principal of a junior high school in Australia, he was interested in the living in Japan and decided to take a yearlong holidays to enjoy Japan with his wife.
Through the experience of talking with four of these teachers, we found many styles of living common to all of them but completely different from us Japanese.

* It is very common to have different family name from married partner, 3 families out of 4 we met have different family name

* They can take long holidays as long as 1 year after working 35 years in same job, Australian government forces to all employers to give the right to their employees to take long holidays.

* They are very keen and active to visit and see everything of Japan, They visit somewhere for sightseeing, outdoor activity, finding Japanese culture and even for cheering Hansin Tigers on every weekend.

* They are very friendly and extroverted to associate with everyone they have chance to meet with.

To associate with the people from oversees is fun for us, it gives us still a lot about the differences of culture.

The year of 2014 is passing away

The year of 2014 is passing away.
Moai has wrote New Year’s greeting card as many as 150. Many of them are to the colleagues of his company life, classmates, colleagues of his hobby and relatives living apart.
Nothing special happened on his life in this year, but he feels it a duty to write about himself a little bit and pray a happy new year for these friends and people he owes his life.

Reading the cards received on the New Years day, Moai can confirm that he or she is well and sometimes It makes them contact and talk for a while.
Keeping this in the same way seems a kind of inspiring himself once a year on the New Year’s days.

It is the best way to live comfortably in his old age to forget about bad things and to remember happy memories. Cards from old friends help him to remember old days.
Moai’s life probably and hopefully must stay same in the coming year of 2015. But of course anything can happen on him, his family and his friends.
Moai has to be determined to accept them and live in a positive way.

You all ! Have a happy new year!

Moai

Autumn leaves

Moai has enjoyed autumn leaves here and there this year. The color seems to be prettier than that of normally ever seen.
The visitors from Australia joined us to see the autumn leaves. They were especially excited by colorful Japanese autumn leaves.

It suggested Moai to grow some maple tree at the mountain side of his home.
It may too late to be able to see grown trees for him. But it may be a pleasure to see it growing and beginning to bud in the spring.
In the twilight of his life, It gives a kind of comfort.

Moai planted two maple trees at the mountain side of his home

How to Japan

。。」(I know you are very busy but…)
2)店で” It’s sold out” と言われると腹が立つ なぜ” I’m sorry but…

**Moai
